Lessons by Qin Qian

Qin Qian twice received the Outstanding Teacher Award at the Princeton International Chinese Music Competition, Princeton University. Her students have also won many prizes!

Would you like to learn how to play the erhu (Chinese violin), the ruan (Chinese Banjo) or the monochord? Good news! Qin Qian offers lessons on all of these instruments. Lessons can be taught in English, Mandarin or Cantonese. For beginners, you do not need to know music or play any of these instruments. As long as you like music and want to play an instrument, and as long as you study and practice with your heart, there will always be rewards.

Erhu (二胡)
Ruan (阮)
Monochord (独弦琴)

Private lessons: Beginner thru advanced levels — adults and children over 5 years — personal or group instructions — one lesson per week(30 minutes or 60 minutes).

Students will learn how to play an instrument and performance techniques as well as musical knowledge during the course. Students may also have the opportunity to learn to play the piano.

If needed, Qin Qian will help the student select and purchase their instruments.
